 “No Fate Leadership”:

Build a Culture that gets stronger in downturns and adversity due to an Intentional Culture

Co-Founder of Mustang Engineering, Bill Higgs, will discuss that with an intentional culture, companies do not have to go up and down with the industry. Mustang Engineering went from zero to $1 Billion in revenues and grew through 7 tough downturns… two that were similar in scope in Texas to the 2020 COVID economic downturn in the USA. They started during a ten year downturn when the oil price went from $27 to $4 per barrel and found it to be a perfect time to build our culture…because everyone was listening intently. Now is the time for leaders to take action and create a “Cycle-Proof” company with a culture people want to join. The tasks are simple and inexpensive, but must come from the heart. You will positively change lives and easily double your bottom line… it doesn’t get any better!

After Bill's formal presentation, the audience can type in questions on the YouTube Live website and Bill will be answering the questions LIVE.

Bill and two partners took a startup engineering firm in a very competitive market from zero to $1Billion in 20 years based on a "market changing" culture. 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation leadership kept the culture strong and hit $2Billion four years later in 2012. The core is now $8Billion, with worldwide offices that have the same cultural principles.

Only 6 out of 1 million startups reach $1Billion in annual revenues. Culture is their secret sauce.  Bill and his partner were named the “Kings of Culture” worldwide in the leading industry magazine and received the Industry’s annual Lifetime Achievement Award for “Visionary Leadership in the Process Industry” when they were 50 years old… high praise.

Bill is a Stage IV cancer survivor from 1981. With an 11% survival rate he opted for experimental chemotherapy at M. D. Anderson and helped them make cancer history.

Bill was chosen by Forbes Books and Forbes Speakers as a culture thought leader going into 2020. He wants to help you answer the question “What’s Your Current Culture Costing You?” and he provides the measuring tools to drive improvements in your culture to your bottom line. He wants you to make heroes and “Make Your Culture Count!”

Bill shows how to build a team culture in any organization, based on his experience from West Point, as an Army Ranger (King of the Pits in hand to hand combat) and as an Airborne (Parachute) qualified, Combat Engineer Company Commander. The leadership and culture building lessons he learned in the military translated well into his company.

Bill helps companies and teams create winning cultures through an intentional proven seven step “how-to” process he used in eight industry segments. He wants you to scale and succeed in business by being other-oriented and making heroes of everyone you touch.

Bill brings decades-long dedication and commitment to excellence in leadership as a distinguished 1974 Graduate (top 5% academically) of West Point and runner-up for a Rhodes Scholarship. He is a Distinguished Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver Award recipient.
